GSC 1 Utama
The cinema at 1Utama offers 13 screens including the higher-end Gold Class which costs RM50. The cinema shows local and Western movies, as well as having an international screen which shows more obscure movies from Europe and South America. There are twin seats for couples costing RM9-13, with normal seats costing RM7-11. For 3D movies expect to pay RM13-20 depending on the seat, the time and the day.

TGV Sunway Pyramid
This cinema has been open since 1997 but in 2011 it had a serious refurbishment and now offers a wider choice of cinema experiences than any other cinema in the area. There are 12 screens, including an IMAX theatre hall with 57-foot wide screen, The Club, a premier hall and The Beaniplex (with a beanbag-style seating arrangement). Normal halls cost RM9-14 with 3D costing RM21; twin seats cost RM14-23 and IMAX tickets cost RM22-29 depending on the seat and the movie.

This branch of GSC has 18 halls and a Gold Class hall, which offers movie-goers a Gold Class Lounge and 32 sofa seats for the movie watching experience. This branch of GSC offers normal halls (RM7-11), Premiere Class halls (RM12-18) which have an adjoining lounge and toilet, or the GSC Maxx hall (RM9-13) which seats 555 and is Malaysia's largest digital hall with a 25m-wide screen. This cinema is located across two floors and is well laid-out with13 halls. Tickets cost from RM8-13, or RM60 for Gold Class where you receive a blanket and enjoy a large seat. Pavilion gets busy late in the evenings on the weekends, so it is advised to book in advance to avoid having to queue.

Pawagam Odeon KL
This is worth visiting just to see inside a lovely old colonial building that has stood the test of time. Built in 1936, this cinema was refurbished and re-opened in 2011, and it contains one hall seating 250 people, while a lot of the building is taken up with a shopping arcade. The cinema plays local movies which may not be subtitled.

TGV KLCC
This is the largest of the TGV multiplexes with 12 screens and 2,400 seats and it shows all the latest releases. Adults should expect to pay RM12-14, but go on a Wednesday to get tickets for just RM9, while 3D movies cost RM21. Located just one floor above the food court, go and get your tickets and then go downstairs to buy your drinks and snacks.

Dewan Filharmonik Petronas
Classical music fans simply must go and see a show at this beautiful concert hall located right inside KLCC. The concert hall is home to the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra as well as a resident youth orchestra, and both play regularly in a whole range of concerts. There are also piano recitals, vocalists, visiting orchestras and musicians as well as special concerts for various events. Istana Budaya
Translated as The Palace of Culture, Istana Budaya is a beautiful building located on the edge of Titiwangsa park and plays host to a wide range of theatre shows, from musicals and plays to operas, with performances in both Bahasa and English. The website is not the easiest to navigate, but it is worth trying to see a show at this cultural venue.

Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KPAC)
This performing arts complex is located in large pleasant grounds that used to be the grounds of the old railway station (you can still see the old building). With a main auditorium as well as various smaller rooms, KLPAC is a wonderful facility showing large-scale performances, recitals, concerts as well as free movie screenings. There is also a shop and a nice restaurant.
